My Loral Langemier experience
The cousin I loved so dearly passed away at a very young age. He was an ordinary young man working an eight-hour job, he was a chemical engineer by profession, but like Loral Langemeier he had dreams of being a self-made man. He wanted to draw out his potentials and make his dreams of owning his own company come true. With the little savings he had, he started from scratch like Loral Langemeier. My cousin ventured into the business of developing powder detergents which he made at his backyard. When that started to grow, he went into degreasers and bottling washing which were also done, initially, at his backyard again. Like Loral Langemeier he knew how to spend money wisely without sacrificing essential basics, he knew how to maximize the little resources he had. With perseverance, hard-work and his dreams in focus, he, like Loral Langemeier, inspired me to make my dreams come true.
I started to dream big. I made a bucket list of all the things I wanted to achieve in my lifetime. Like in the movies, I did cross out an item that I have already realized. I quit my 8-hour job, became a competent housewife, mother and grandmother. I capitalized on my love to cook, hand-painting and crocheting and soon I was making extra cash with the little things I loved doing. Incidentally, I read about Loral Langemeier who inspired me with her books and experiences, and together with cousin’s experiences, is giving me the motivations to become self-made as well and loving every minute of it.
